Frightworks comes to Caldicot Castle this Halloween on 23rd October to 1st November.
This Halloween… Caldicot Castle opens its gates.
But not to welcome you....
When autumn falls and the nights grow long, the wind wraps itself around the stone towers of Caldicot Castle like a shroud. Beneath the moonlight, shadows stretch across the battlements, and the air carries whispers older than the fortress itself.
By day, it’s a monument to history.
By night… it’s something else entirely.
You are invited on a guided journey into the dark heart of the castle. The path will lead you through ancient corridors and down into the chapel ruins, where something stirs in the blackness. The stones remember what happened here. And now… so will you.
They call them the Brothers of the Bleeding Oak.Once guardians of an ancient covenant, now nothing but cursed vessels, their flesh long gone, their eyes hollow, their souls bound to a pact sealed centuries ago. Fed by the blood of the faithful, their power runs deep in the castle walls.
At the centre of it all stands the gate, the portal to the Tree God himself. It grows restless, its roots twisting beneath the ground, reaching for those who dare to come too close. And on certain nights… the ritual begins again.
The doors will close behind you.
The torches will flicker.
And the only way out… is through.

Step inside the ancient fortress and discover a world where every shadow hides a story. At the heart of it all lies The Caldicot Covenant, the twisted maze where the Brothers of the Bleeding Oak gather to complete their ritual. Their whispers haunt the corridors, and every turn draws you deeper into the curse. From there, steel your nerves as you descend into the Dungeon of Demons, where ancient evils claw at the walls, before crossing into the Séance of the Forgotten, a chilling communion with the other side. But be warned… not every spirit that answers is eager to return.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• This event is designed to scare; actors will jump out, there will be darkness, strobe effects, smoke machines and loud music.
• Frightworks is not recommended for heavily pregnant women or people with heart conditions however, the decision is with the individual
• Tickets must be purchased online in advance.
• The Caldicot Covenant scare walkthrough experience will last approximately 30 minutes, whilst the other activities can be enjoy edeither before your entrance slot or after you have gone through the maze
• Pick one entrance slot to attend, timeslots are limited so book with your group to avoid missing out
• Please arrive 10 minutes early to avoid missing your entrance slot, you will not be able to attend a later entrance slot.
• Entrance slots are for the Caldicot Covenant walkthrough experience, once this has ended you are able to spend as long as you like in the entertainment area
• Entrance Slots are kept to small groups, to heighten the experience and minimise queuing
• Unfortunately, the event is not accessible for people in wheelchairs due to narrow corridors, uneven grounds, steps and tight spaces.

Strobe lighting and smoke machines are used across the site.
After Dark sessions start every day from 7pm and are suitable for those aged 12+
Family sesisons are every day from 5pm-6pm and are recommended for children aged 7+.
We run two different types os sessions at Frightworks, Family Friendly (7+) and Thriller Sessions (12+).
Please note: anyone attending under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or older.

Yes but you will be asked to removed headwear or masks when going through the scares.
No, bags are search upon entry and any alcohol will be removed from you.

Yes we have large car park. Parking costs just £4 and you will be able to pay on the door.

No, many areas are undercover so you can still enjoy the evening.
We strongly recommend suitable, sturdy footwear — trainers or boots with good grip. You’ll be walking through dark, uneven, and sometimes wet areas.
